What is it about Love Island Brits just can't get enough of

The title is not a rhetorical question, really trying to figure out why Brits cant get enough of Love Island. Tried watching the reality show few nights ago and couldn't get pass 10 minutes. I simply had to change the channel. The thought of sacrificing more of my time on a TV show that bizarre.. oh no, couldn't go through with it.

For those who don't know, Love Island is a reality TV show on ITV2 where group of contestants, referred to as Islanders, live in isolation from the outside world, in an awesome villa and constantly under video surveillance. Sounds like Big Brother right? Wait..., I have more.

To survive in the villa the Islanders must be coupled up with another Islander, whether it be for love, friendship or money, as the overall winning couple receives £50,000. On the first day, the Islanders couple up for the first time based on first impressions, but over the duration of the series they are forced to "re-couple" where they can choose to remain in their current couple or swap and change.

Any Islander who remains single after the coupling is eliminated and dumped from the island.

In theory the show sounds interesting but not as much in reality, in my opinion anyways.

For the 10 minutes of torture I spent watching the show, all I saw was a group of pretenders,  Kim kardashian West look alikes, Barbie and Ken wannabes, and so on . What I don't understand is, why do Brits love this show? I just cant see what they see. Maybe is because I was trying to watch the show while sober. Those who watch the show, do you watch it sober or high as a mother****r?

Now lets be real. I need your option on this. What is so interesting about the show and why do you watch it.  Drop a comment below.
